Coldplay are a British rock-pop band, formed in London, UK in 1997. The band comprises vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitar strummer Jonny Buckland, bass guitar player Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champ .

Having released 4 successful albums, ( all of which debuted at number one on the United Kingdom album chart ) Coldplay have also achieved great success with their singles ,eg Yellow, Speed of Sound, the Grammy-winning Clocks and the US and UK one single Viva La Vida Face Chris Martin credits 1980s Norwegian pop band a-ha with galvanizing him to form his very own band. Coldplay’s early material was frequently compared against the that of Jeff Buckley and Radiohead, while also drawing comparisons to U2 and Travis.
